About Paul Hoskins, LMFT,
Couples Therapist In Kalamazoo, MI

I’m Paul Hoskins, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Kalamazoo, MI, and I specialize in helping individuals and couples (either married or not) understand and change the patterns that keep them feeling stuck.

Relationships are one of the most important parts of our lives, and also one of the most complex. If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance there’s something in your relationship (or in yourself) that feels off. If so, you’re in the right place.

My role is to help you and your partner understand what’s actually happening beneath the surface and learn how to respond differently so things can genuinely change for the better.

Whether you’re coming in as an individual or as a couple, we’ll look at how you communicate, handle conflict, respond to stress, and connect emotionally. When those pieces shift, everything else in life tends to follow.

What Therapy With Me Is Like

I’m a licensed professional counselor and limited licensed psychologist with over a decade of experience. I provide therapy for both individuals and couples across Kalamazoo, MI and throughout Michigan via telehealth. My work is grounded in several well-established, research-supported therapy models, including Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gottman-Method Couples Therapy, and various trauma-informed approaches.

Clients often describe my style as warm, helpful, and collaborative. I’ll meet you where you are, help you and your partner feel understood, but also be honest and clear when you need it. I teach my client practical skills on how to navigate difficult emotions, communicate better, and create new, healthier ways of connecting with others.

I often work with people who are:

  • Feeling stuck in a recurring relationship conflict

  • Navigating disconnection, trust issues, or infidelity

  • Preparing for marriage and wanting a strong foundation

  • Managing anxiety, depression, or stress

  • Working through trauma or past relationship experiences

  • Trying to build healthier, more fulfilling relationships

Even if you’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t help, this work can feel different because we’re not just talking about problems, we’re working with the patterns behind them.
