I work one-on-one with individuals ages 12+* to address some of these common concerns:
Anxiety
Depression
Trauma History
Issues related to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Relationship problems
Couple or marital conflict
Stress, incorporating the Safe & Sound Protocol
Grief and Loss
Problems with family members
Problems at work
Problems at school
Problems with parents
Loneliness
*I do not offer individual counseling with anyone under 12, but I could work with someone under 12 in family therapy. Some parental involvement in therapy is necessary from the ages of 12-16. How often we meet with parents is determined on a case by case and can be limited based on individual preferences and the ability to be open and feels safe with one another.
The First Session
If you are coming individually during your first session, I will ask you questions to get to know you better and understand what brings you to counseling. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the counseling process. If you are comfortable, I do like to spend time discussing background things like: family of origin experiences and trauma history. Throughout the therapy process, I like to use the evidence-based approach Internal Family Systems Approach. This is an experiential approach that helps people explore the different internal parts of themselves and how these parts may come into conflict with one another and how to heal old internal wounds and develop a more harmonious and peaceful internal state.
Some of our Most Commonly Asked FAQs
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes! We encourage prospective clients to schedule a 10-15 minute free consultation so that we can determine whether we would be a good match for one another.
Do you take insurance?
No, we do not accept insurance. Many insurance companies state that they do not cover marriage and couples counseling or family therapy, and are restrictive in the therapy process. However, we can provide a superbill after each session, and clients can submit this to their insurance company for possible reimbursement.
What are your session rates?
Fees are $150.00 for 60-minute sessions and $190.00 for 75-minute sessions. For couples, we recommend the 75-minute sessions at $190.00. Income-based sliding scale fees are available upon request. We can accept HSA and FSA accounts.
